It's been one month after the major leak from twitch where streamers revenues were shown online for everyone to see

Here we can see the huge income some streamers make within just one month of streaming games, just chatting or another category with xQc being the highest on this above list making $752,467.
If you don’t understand how they make money, well it’s through the viewers who donate to them with twitch’s subscriptions/gift subs system (which unlocks emotes and special perks within that creator’s channel), bits which are another twitch currency which is basically mini donations to creators and twitch ad sense revenue. With thousands and sometimes 100s of thousands of viewers tuning in to watch their creator do pretty much whatever they want on a live broadcast and a LOT of people donating to them with both bits and subs, (one sub going for £4) the money earned from each viewer starts to add up.

In the above Tiktok Mizkif and Ludwig, both are who are streamers somewhat discuss the leak and joke about a hierarchy in income and how they should not address people below them in the ranking. They are referring to the table below which shows the top 100 streamers' earnings from August 2019 – to October 2021. There is one who stands out particularly for me since I personally watch the group around him, and he is called Ranboo at number 16 (RanbooLive). This is because he has only been streaming for 1 year starting in September of 2020 and despite this, he is still number 16 earning $2,401,021.84 showing his massive growth and income generation as well as being a young person assumed to be around 17 years of age (this is unknown as he has not revealed his age). This is incredibly impressive that a platform like twitch can generate this much income for SUCCESFUL creators.

With this, it led to me questioning the integrity of streamers and why they could, or better put should earn this amount per year/month. It begs the question of how ethical this is and how creators online could be earning over 10x the amount of income compared to NHS workers for example. But if you enjoy something/are invested in something you’re most likely going to want to support it. However, some streamers do give back to charities in a massive way like Ranboo who raised over $325,000 in 16 hours.
